Listen to what our parents say!

My daughter loves her piano lessons at Muletown Music! She always comes out with a smile. Her teacher is one of the kindest and most patient people we’ve met. I’m so thankful to have them in our community!
— Caroline

This is our second summer at Muletown School of Music! We simply love the introduction to music that our 5yo is getting — it’s no pressure (on the students or the parents); it’s super fun; and our kiddo is soooo pumped to go to every class. He loves that he gets to play piano, guitar, and drums in each class (Little Jammers). Based on our experience, we would recommend it to any parent wanting a positive, learning-filled activity for their kids!
— Liz

Muletown Music is top notch! The owners and teachers deeply care about their students and the community that they are serving. It’s truly an honor to send my kids to muletown music! We are a family of musicians and it’s so awesome to give our children a solid foundation!

About the Owners

Kenton and Rebekah Lanier both grew up loving music—and music is actually how they met! They met as music students in college and became good friends after finishing school. They got married while Kenton was finishing his master’s degrees in viola performance and musicology (a fancy word for music history) at the University of Missouri–Kansas City.

After school, they spent a few years in Kenton’s hometown of Kansas City, where they taught music to kids, performed with orchestras, conducted, led church music, and played lots of music together. Kenton plays viola (his favorite!), violin, guitar, piano, and ukulele. Rebekah plays piano and harp, and sings.

Rebekah grew up in Middle Tennessee, and in 2021, they settled in Columbia to start a brand-new music school and raise their family. They love getting to share their love of music with kids and families in the community and are excited to help their students discover just how much fun making music can be.

Kenton is also the conductor of the Maury County Orchestra, continuing his love of performing and bringing musicians together.

When they aren’t teaching music at the studio, you’ll find Kenton and Rebekah loving on their two kids, Jordan and Sadie, spending time outdoors, or hanging out with friends. They love cheering for the Chiefs and Royals, and everyone in the family enjoys Kenton’s favorite hobby: LEGO building!
